Lactation visit – midwife

Lactation visit:

• taking an anamnesis – we ask about pregnancy, childbirth and previous feeding of the baby;
• mother’s examination;
• examination of the baby – especially on the assessment of the child’s oral cavity and weight;
• feeding observation
• a proposal for further action and discussion of recommendations

We help with problems related to feeding babies, including:

• difficulties in latching the baby to the breast – baby’s anxiety;

• difficulty latching on to the breast by the baby;

• incorrect weight of the child;

• problems with the child’s digestive system – tummy pain, regurgitation, flatulence;

• pain while feeding;

• sores on the nipples;

• nipple infections;

• breast pain;

• breast swelling;

• inflammation of the breast;

• fast milk flow;

• hyperlactation;

• a small amount of milk;

• expressing and storing breast milk;

• determining the safety of drugs during lactation;

• weaning your baby;

• mom has anxiety and doubts related to breastfeeding;

We also invite you to meetings during pregnancy – this will help you start breastfeeding properly.
